Environmental support in The Arctic (Denmark/Greenland)
Challenge
To comply with the international Arctic Environmental Protection Strategy (AEPS) the Danish Environmental Protection Agency maintains a grants program that aims to fund research initiatives that protect the environment and nature of the Arctic, primarily Greenland.
The annual grant program support monitoring, research, initiatives aimed at safeguarding biodiversity and the environment.
Solution
From a manually based administration the F2 solution digitized case management. This means that both the overall budget of the grant program, the individual applications and the running payments are handled on the platform.

Grant management, payout by rates
Where most Danish solutions can rely on national digital infrastructure like digital signature and ID, this solution also had to handle applications from non-Danish applicants without losing the advantages of a case flow based on the general grant management model.
The research nature of the project leads to applications being screened by outside experts. This is handled as part of the workflow where hearing letters are sent out, and the caseworker gets notified when the hearing has received an answer.
The payout of the grants stretches over years with rates being paid out sequentially. The solution keeps track of this part of the process as well. This allows for a streamlined grant management process and correct accounting practices.
Results
The project was 9 months under way and resulted in better coordination and flow for the case workers in Denmark and Greenland. The solution ensures equal treatment of applicants and much faster answer to applications.
And finally the solution for the rated payout provides for better control and overview of the aggregated payouts through the years.
