At cBrain, we like to think that we understand the critical role technology plays when building a more sustainable society, and we are proud to promote sustainability by deploying our software into government institutions to accelerate the transition from a paper-based to a digital administration. This was also the case before CSR and SDGs were the talk of the town. Understanding the nature of how governments work and then applying the right technology has been at the core of cBrain’s business model from the beginning. This is also why corporate social responsibility goes hand in hand with our business model, our software platform, the services we provide to our customers, and finally the impact our combined efforts have on key areas of the global sustainability agenda.
The Sustainable Development Goals is a robust global plan to achieve a better and more sustainable future for all. At cBrain, we believe technology is one of the main vehicles to reach the goals, and our mission is to build software for a more sustainable world. In this “Decade of Action”, we are pleased to present in our 2020 CSR report, a broader focus on how we work with the SDGs. Besides SDG 16 that represents the digital foundation of government institutions, we believe partnerships and tech- nology transfer as stated in SDG 17 will play a key role in helping societies ‘build back better’ in the wake of the challenges imposed by COVID-19. Furthermore, we believe in the power of software in the fight to reduce climate change and manage natural resources sustainably. We do so by supporting SDG 13.
Our overall vision has always been to rebuild trust in democracy and government services through digitization. And the evidence suggests that we are having a positive impact in this area. Over the past 15 years, more than 75 government entities have implemented our standard software, including 16 out of 19 Danish ministerial departments. During the COVID-19 pandemic, we have worked closely with the government to ensure a seamless transition to remote and virtual work, while maintaining high-quality public service delivery.
We are proud that Denmark once again is ranked number one in the world in the UN GovTech survey. And as a company, we are proud to be able to play an active part in the development of a digital society – in Denmark as well as globally.
