Increased energy efficiency

The energy we don’t use is the cleanest energy available. According to the International Energy Agency’s Net Zero by 2050 pathway, energy efficiency must deliver one third of the global reduction in greenhouse gas emissions. A mere doubling of energy efficiency improvements to 4% annually would have the equivalent effect of decarbonizing all of Chinas annual energy consumption by the end of the decade.

In the midst of a global energy crisis that has spurred a hike in energy prices and inflation there is an increased pressure on governments to act fast with assistance to their citizens and transition of their energy systems to become independent of oil and gas. Energy efficiency saves money for households and companies by lowering their energy cost. This, alongside a very positive job creation effect from energy efficiency programs makes a positive socio-economic case for government initiatives.
